The Stable Door is a popular restaurant and tapas bar in the historic village of Welwyn, Hertfordshire.

The name may prompt you to expect some age-worn inn but The Stable Door is a smart restaurant and tapas bar, and a popular choice for those who'd like to pop in for breakfast, a leisurely lunch, an after-work drink or an evening meal you’ll never forget.

Spread over two floors, our downstairs dining area is complemented by our Tapas bar, perfect for anyone who fancies a quick snack as they’re enjoying a drink. Our main restaurant area upstairs is decorated in warm colours, and features some wonderful artwork, which you can see here.

Our fantastic food makes the restaurant popular with both locals and those from further afield. The menu consists of authentic Tapas, as well as regional dishes from around Spain. We’re open for breakfast from 9 o’clock, with a rich variety of coffees and pastries, as well as larger dishes. Our lunchtime menu features all the choice of sandwiches and salads you could hope for, but the main event is our Tapas menu, which is available at lunchtimes and evenings. A quality range of dishes, running from the live lobster and shellfish that we display on our seafood bar, to meat and chicken, not forgetting plenty of vegetarian options. For those in search of something more filling, we offer a variety of main courses, including platters and paellas that two or more can share.
